About Blood Pressure Monitors, Thermometers & Diagnostics

Taking readings at home or in a clinic starts with the right device and the right consumables for it. This collection covers digital and manual blood pressure monitors, cuffs, thermometers and probe covers, pulse oximeters, and related test supplies from A&D Medical and others. It is one of several collections in our exam supplies range, alongside exam gloves, syringes and needles, and procedure kits.

The two attributes to compare are the device and its compatibility. Blood pressure monitors differ by cuff location (upper arm or wrist), cuff size range and memory features; buy a cuff that matches the arm circumference printed on it. Thermometers differ by method, such as oral, tympanic, temporal or axillary, and probe covers are usually made for one thermometer model. Pulse oximeters come as fingertip units or with separate sensors.

Replacement cuffs, covers and sensors must match the device they are used with, so note the brand and model number from the back of your monitor or thermometer. For consumables, the REF number on the box is the most exact reorder reference, and the listing shows the box or case quantity.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right blood pressure cuff size?

Measure around the middle of the upper arm and compare the result with the circumference range printed on each cuff. Using a cuff outside its range affects the reading. Also confirm the cuff's connector fits your monitor model, since cuffs from A&D Medical and other makers are not always interchangeable between brands.

Are home monitors and test supplies covered by insurance?

Coverage differs by item and plan. Some blood pressure monitors and supplies may be covered in certain situations, while thermometers and oximeters often are not. HCPCS codes on our pages are shown for reference only. Whether an item is covered depends on your payer and plan, so check with them before purchasing.

How do I reorder probe covers, cuffs or sensors?

Find the REF number on the box of your current supply, or the device model number if you are buying an accessory for the first time. Search that number on our site to get the matching item. Probe covers and similar consumables are usually sold by the box, with case quantities listed where available.
